Solidcryo Universität Augsburg
Cooling our quantum future
Solidcryo is a research project at the University of Augsburg focusing on sustainable cooling for quantum technologies. Conventional cooling methods for superconducting quantum systems use rare helium-3, which leads to supply bottlenecks and high costs. Solidcryo is developing an alternative cooling technology that does not require helium-3 and instead relies on magnetic cooling.
The project team is working to further develop this technology and make it commercially available.
