Company profile

The Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics IAF is a leading research institute in the fields of III-V semiconductors and synthetic diamonds. The research institute collaborates with both industry and academia to drive advancements in the fields of electronics, optoelectronics and quantum technologies, with the aim of providing practical solutions and promoting technological advancement. Along these lines, Fraunhofer IAF explores in particular quantum computing and quantum sensing based on color centers in diamond as well as quantum algorithms. The institute is playing a key role in these cutting-edge fields and is conducting a large number of projects at the state, federal and European level.
